Located in the Apex 27502 zip code, and New Hill

Michael Baker was born and raised in Oregon and moved to Washington State with his family when he was thirteen years old.  Following his freshman year at the University of Washington, when he was working in a mailroom, the Lord brought a Christian into his life.  The Holy Spirit used the witnessing of that believer to lead Michael to Christ.  So, at age nineteen, he repented of his sins and accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord.  Shortly after, he was baptized and joined a local independent Baptist church.  He and Ellen were married in 1968.

The Lord blessed Ellen and Michael with a son and a daughter who are now married with children of their own.  They enjoy their twin granddaughters and grandson.

Ellen taught in Christian schools for nearly thirty years, and Michael served as a Sunday school teacher and deacon at several churches.  They moved into their Apex home in 2003 and attended the Greenhouse Class in the fall of that year.   They joined Colonial Baptist Church in early 2004 where Michael has been involved in the Evangelism Explosion program and also supports the Wisdom for the Heart ministry.  They attend the Life Spring ABF.
