I was born and spent my early years in Marion, KY. We moved to AR where I attended high school, met my wife, and raised two children. In 1981 we moved to Memphis, TN and lived there until we moved to Apex in1997 to follow our first grandchild.
My wife and I are blessed to have our wonderful son, wife, and three grandchildren here at Colonial. Our wonderful daughter, husband and other grandson live in Clearwater, FL. I am retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
I accepted Christ at age 23 during a revival at the church where my wife and I were married. My wife was a member there, but I did not attend church very much prior to my getting married. I went just enough to know that Jesus had died for me but I had never asked Him to be Savior and Lord.
We have been attending Colonial for about 41/2 years. My wife and I were leaders of the Divorce Care for Children for two years, since then we have been First Time Greeters at the east door.
My favorite scripture is Job 19:25, 26 “As for me I know that my Redeemer lives and at the last He will take His stand on the earth. Even after my skin is destroyed, yet from my flesh I shall see God.”
