Stephen Davey is Senior Pastor of Colonial Baptist Church and President of Shepherds Theological Seminary, as well as principal Bible teacher on the "Wisdom for the Heart" broadcast. He attended Liberty University and Tennessee Temple University, graduating in 1981. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary and a Master of Sacred Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, and has been honored with a Doctor of Divinity degree from an STS sister seminary in Chennai, India.
Following graduation from Dallas, Stephen moved his young family to Cary in 1986 to found Colonial. He presently maintains a full schedule leading Shepherds Theological Seminary, directing Wisdom for the Heart, and fulfilling his primary ministry duties as pastor/teacher of Colonial Baptist Church. He has written three commentaries and numerous smaller books published by Charity House, Ambassador/Emerald House Publishers, and Wisdom for the Heart. Stephen and his wife, Marsha, have been married 29 years and have been blessed with four children: twin sons Benjamin [wife Caroline] and Seth; daughters Candace and Charity.
